    pads under Auto Levelers

What does everyone use under the hydraulic jack plates?? I have always used 2x10x16" wood blocks with my old 5er but I am not sure they dont cause excessive "wiggle" in the coach and if the ground is a little mis-shapen they tend to break/split.

I have seen a number of campers just let them contact right to the ground but I dont think I like that, especially if the ground is a little soft...

    suggestions?

Plastic Camco pads designed for this. They are relatively cheap and very lightweight and flex enough to deal with ground irregularities.

Tractor Supply sells a rubber pad made for horse stalls that is about 3/4 inch thick. I cut it into 12 in squares and can stack them. I saw the idea on another forum and gave it a try. They're heavy but very effective.

I thought about stall mats but I wondered if you stacked them if it would make the trailer "wiggle".

We bought these after using some that didn't work very well at the dealership where we bought our rig. These are very stout and we like the tether handle on them. These were also large enough for the feet on our landing gear and they are stackable. We bought two packs of four plus two extra singles...they were worth the money for us. We paid $80.00 for four plus shipping. They work great and worth the money!

Here is the link...but you can find them on Amazon.

2nd the stall matt idea. Cut into 12" squares, drill holes in adjacent corners & use a nylon rope to tie 2 or 3 together for a set.
Less than $50 for the set and they support my 5er with no problem & don't crack or rot like plastic or wood.

We also use 2x10 lumber cutoffs as we are in the residential remodeling business and I have a seemingly endless supply of them. I find them to be effective and very stable. I've heard stories about the lighter weight stackable plastic pads sold by the RV accessories folks breaking up and needing frequent replacement so I just never tried them. I keep our 2x10 cutoffs in a Rubbermaid Brute box in the basement. I believe you should use something as I have never let the landing gear/stabilizers make direct contact with the ground on grass, gravel or concrete. Good luck!
