Bike Rack
On my Solitude I have a 1 1/4 hith on the back of the trailer and am trying to find a rack to hold two mountain bikes. Most of the racks are 2 inch receivers and I was told not to use an adapter. I found a few that are the correct size and it says not for use on travel trailers. Has anybody else purchased a bike rack. They also sell some that go around the bumper and I was told it was not a good idea to use those either. I had a ladder type on my other RV and it did some damage to the bolts that held the ladder on the RV, had to have it repaired. I would appreciate any suggestions anybody might have. I do not want to damage my new RV. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Bike Rack
Check Proline Racks, I think they have some that fit a 1.25 hitch. Their site is www.prolineracks.com

Re: Bike Rack
There is also an adaptor that allows 1.25" items to load into 2.0" hitches and vice versa. Check into that and see if it works for you.

Re: Bike Rack
The newer trailers don't even have that receiver hitch on them. I noticed that while at the show in Hershey pa last Saturday.

Re: Bike Rack
I have to say being a cdl driver who drives doubles over the road
I don't think I will ever use my hitch because of the tail whip I have seen on
Other units however with that said my hitch has acted as a good skid plate
And I am glad that it is there on one bottom out is was actually severe enough
To pop out both end caps on bumber and if anyone else loses them they sell
Some replacement ones that push in on the centers and do not pop out they work we'll
And we're a good investment

Re: Bike Rack
I've lost a bike off of a rear receiver mounted hitch, and do know they take a heck of a beating back there.
My newest solution is a front mounted receiver hitch on the truck.
Now, they are out in front where I can see them, and I can still take our kayaks on the roof mounted rack.
We look like the Griswold's going down the road, but that is the point, to have fun outside!!
