Vibrating strut while retracting awning

One of the struts on our awning vibrates/stutters when we retract it. I put some very light oil (all I had) on the strut shaft but that didn't help. Has anybody else experienced this and if so, were you able to fix it?

Ours was doing that and CRS has just struck real hard. I do remember it was the door side that was doing it. We either sprayed it with a dry lube , loosened the joint bolt as little as possible or maybe both.... darn, just can't remember exactly what we did , but it stopped.

Our door side does this too.....now just gotta remember to fix it in the spring......dry lube, joint loosen, or something else l

Mine did that. I lubed all the moving parts with CRC silicon dry. So far so good

I like silicon spray lube for that type of issue. If that doesn't take care of it you may need to adjust the awning gear. Also I always make sure I have ours adjusted the same on both sides with no pitch before retracting. Good luck!

If lubricating the pivot points doesn't help (didn't on my prior trailer), look to see if the fabric has shifted in the rail / track where it is attached to the side of the trailer. I found mine was was off-center and causing the a pull to one side and therefore causing binding at the pivot points. Easy enough to remove the two screws securing the awning and pull it a bit in the track to re-center the awning. Noise removed.
