Ordered a Sleep Number Bed-Do I need to cut 2 1" holes.
Yesterday I ordered a sleep number bed. In the "before delivery" instruction it says to cut 2 1" holes at the head of the bed for the system hoses.
What have you done for those that have the bed? I want to know specifically so I'm not cutting a bunch of holes.
Where do you have your pump?
I have the power on each side and do I put everything under the bed where it lifts or directly under the head that I don't have access to?
I have a 2017 Reflection 303 RLS

Arnold, I had to cut two 1" holes for the tubes at the head of the bed so I could have the pump under the bed. I also cut a hole in the side of the base for the cord to come out. I eventually put a disconnecting cord "socket" on the inside of the base accessible directly through the hole in the side.
My pump ended up just below the hinge. My RV king came with extension hoses so it made it easy to locate where I wanted.
The 1" holes I put as far to the head as possible and about 6" to the left of exact alignment with the stub outs of the hoses from the mattress. This allowed for moving the mattress around a bit for putting sheets on etc. without it getting hung up.
Hope all that made sense, good luck.Jim (& Sharon)

I did not cut a hole in my bed. I routed the hoses along the head of the bed to the left side. The pump is on the floor beside the bed. I don't have a Reflection so I'm not sure how the bed is designed. On my Solitude there is a ledge on the floor on each side of the bed.

I just put my pump up by the head board between the night stand and bed frame and routed the hoses up in the headboard area. No cutting necessary and plug it into the plug in the nightstand.
You cant beat the Sleep Number bed. We never took the original mattress out of the plastic, sold it on craigs-list.Paul & Julie

We did the same, just place pump on ledge by bed and routed the hoses along head board

I'm thinking of buying a sleep number bed for my 27' GD. How is it in lifting the mattress for the storage underneath? Does the thickness of the mattress of mattress weight cause any problems?
Thanks

The weight isn't a problem. I don't think it weighs any more than the original mattress . Even with the original mattress it's not an easy lift to access the storage under the bed but the SN bed doesn't make it any worse.

I had a short queen SN bed in my previous two TTs and loved it. We accessed the under bed storage twice each weekend (setup and breakdown) without any issues around weight of the mattress.
