Reflection 29RS 2 Step stair to 3 step mod.
Hello all! We just bought our first FW. This is our 5th rv coming from a pop-up to a class C gas.
My wife fell in love with this floor plan and we bought a gently used 2015.
After getting it home and figuring out how everything works (no owners paperwork supplied)
I found this site. What a great place for info and ideas!!! The first thing I found was the Interior light
dimmer switch mod.on the outside of the hutch..Attachment 6583Attachment 6584.Great Idea..Installed! Now. the main project I had to figure out was how to
fix the impossible 10.5 inch steps into the bedroom. I divided 21 inches by 3. 7 inch steps..Perfect.
After finding some 1 inch material I copied the original fiberboard step. did some carefull measuring into the door opening area.
Turns out to be about 8 inches from original step base. 2X6 boxed in supports on bottom and slightly shaved 2X4s on top of original
step framework. + 1 inch steps = 3 7 inch steps. The wife was originally conserned with the extended area in the door.
When you look at it and move in and out of the door, It Never becomes a problem. Now we can go up and down with old knees!

Todd, If you need some more pics, Ive got-em. The top step was cake! The bottom took a lot more fitting as to give and take into the opening. I believe the top step was 12" at its widest point. I ended up cutting the first step back to 11" The base is also following the angle back. Making sure I had enough support underneath. half inch back corner to corner. I made a mark on the door threshold to refrence max allowed door entry. Lots of cut n whittle to fit..shapeing the door side while still maintaining enough step in the center. Good luck Bro! Its worth the time!

What happened to the left over original step? is it available? GD is not selling this step direct. I have to an authorized dealer and order it. Depending on cost and shipping, i may be interested int purchasing it from you. Thanks, Jeff. Not sure if it is ethical to put personal info here, but can if needed. Thanks again.

Well finally made the time to get r done. some ugly pictures at the beginning to make sure all was going to work out. We form the large 10 inch step to 7 inch steps. Works great, looks factory installed thanks to robhotdog for his 29rs left over step contribution and the local guy I use for flooring for carpet. I like it, she likes it and now we can walk up and down without the extra stretching of the legs, ankles and such. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
