Suggestions for Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
I will be picking up my Imagine 2500RL in Mid-February and would like to use a TPMS system on the trailer tires. Please provide some guidance on systems I should consider.
Thanks,2017 Imagine 2500RL

I have used the TOMS with flow through sensors for several years. Everyone thinks their system is the best, JMHO

We have a TireMinder TPMS. It seems to work well and saved us some major damage last year when we took a piece of rebar or large bolt through a tire on I-16 coming out of Savannah. I was recently told by a fellow GD owner, though, that none of the systems are very good at telling you if there is a missing sensor. He lost a wheel on his Solitude and the system never alarmed. You might want to check out that particular situation before settling on a system. I forget which brand he was using, but it was one of the major ones.

As I understand it all brands will not alert during a catastrophic failure such as a lost wheel or a total blow out that throws or damages the sensor. Fortunately most tire failures will first have a loss of pressure which would alert through th sensor. I have the Truck Systems Techmology (TST), 507 non-flow through. I don't use the locking ring and if air is needed I just unscrew the sensor. I chose the non-flow through after reading reviews, but I hear many people use the flow through also. I recommend you get metal valve stems either way, even though theyare only required with the flow through. The rubber valve stems can fail with the centrifugal force caused by the extra weight of sensors. I also use a booster for the signal even though mine worked without it. TST has had great customer service.

Thanks for the responses. I will probably be going with the TireMinder TM55c-B and the TMB100W TPMS Booster. I can buy the two on Amazon for about $175.
