Considering new 337 or 303 plus new 1 ton SRW
We've had our 2800BH for 2 months now. We went to the Tampa show last weekend and we are considering trading it in for a 303 or a 337 and purchasing a 1 ton P/U truck.
At the show, Lazydays had a show price on a 337RLS with a "MSRP" of $61,968 for $49,095. I'm sure there's more room for negotiation as we paid $4,000 less for our 2800BH than their current show price.
What is a price point I should shoot for if I decide to make an offer on a new 337 with 12 cu/ft fridge?
Lazydays has a used 2015 337RLS. It has a washer/dryer Combo installed. We may consider that if we can buy it right, unless consensus here is to pay for a 2017. What do you all think? What improvements are there between 15-17 model years?
Also will be looking for a F-350 SRW or equivalent GM or Dodge.
Thanks in advance!Jerry & Linda

Independent of trade...
Having just been through this for a 337RLS, I's say if you can get to about ~$45k you are doing well...

I would turn on the AC in the 2015 then in the 2017 and see if the noise level is acceptable in the 2015.

Well we have a 2015 late build 337 and absolutely love it but unless the money is crazy I would buy the new one for a couple reasons; auto level, the new furniture, the second awning just to name a few.
I purchased for about 30% off from MSRP (which can be a moving target itself). I think we paid around $45k.
I pull with a 1 ton SRW. Originally I had a 3/4 ton and I was significantly over weight. You will gets many responses from folks towing with a 3/4 ton and telling you it pulls fine, etc., and that will be true but I'm willing to tell you that they are all likely to be over the tagged payload of their 3/4 ton truck. So since you have yet to buy your truck, don't even waste your time looking at 3/4 ton trucks.
Good luck and you will absolutely love your 337!Paul "Poppy" and Deb Cervone

Hello,
$47K good, $46K very good, $45K excellent, $44K fantastic, $43,377 best you could ever hope for . Because this is the peak year for the B. Boomers to reach retirement age (10,000+ per day) in combination with a decent economy our negotiation power is bit reduced. Thankfully RV loan rates are still very good. The time of year also plays into the price. Left over models at the end of the camping season (Sept. ish) can be had for less but your selection is also reduced plus it appears this is the time of year GD starts making a lot of changes to their models you might really want
Regards,
Kevin
PS: In the overall scheme of things if you are happy with the camper and feel good about the deal (I'm talking about dealer support and quality of the unit) +/- a couple of grand shouldn't prevent you from enjoying the time of your life.2015 Ram Laramie 3500 4x4 LB Dually Crew Cab

Yes, the funny numbers!
I did a trade so just looked at the OTD figure and drove the deal from that perspective. Didn't care about the asking price, trade or the funny numbers. Just what was going to exit the wallet...
One item that I wasn't counting on was registration state sales tax. Turns out I only had to pay the state sales tax rate and not the additional county and city rates too.
In the process, I had also forgot that CA taxes on the full sales price and not the delta with the trade. Plus they collect the full amount with the concept of reimbursement once paid in the registration state. Right, for an almost bankrupt state! CA dealers closer to a boarder offer delivery to an out of state location to avoid the tax issue. Complicates the deal.
Not unlike other internet/out-of-state sales, some dealers are significantly more astute than others. The difference is typically night and day!
For our deal, we paid no purchase state sales tax and the temp (60 days) registration fee and funny numbers were included in the OTD figure. We only paid state sales tax which was just over half of what it could of been with an in state deal. The only issue we had was the registration office uses NADA for vales and there was no entry for a 2017 GD Reflection 337RLS. Minor issue.
Not our first and would do a purchase this way again...Current;

Just a word of caution on the 1 ton truck. Try to find one with a payload of at least 3,500#. Most folks who've had their 337s weighed had a pin weight of around 3,000# when fully loaded. My new 2016 F350 SRW has a payload of 3,150#. If I'd replaced my 337 with another one, I wouldn't have had enough payload. There are many 1 tons with 3,500# of payload depending on the options that they come with.
