My Reflection 320 MKS is 34' 8" hitch to rear. They must be using Fuzzy math to get model numbers.

From both personal experience and so many reports from others here and on the road I can tell you that there are a whole bunch of dealers who don't know as much as they should about these products, and who make stuff up to seem knowledgeable so you'll buy with confidence from them. Your dealer seems like another of them.
Someone who seems very much to be an exception to this "rule" is @huntr70, a dealer representative who lucky for us takes the time to post here with usually-solid, bankable information.
He has already responded above to the model number question: model numbers are just numbers, without any reliable relationship to the size or length of our trailers. The relationship theories posited above by others above are based on coincidence or conjecture since none of them reliably hold up across Grand Design's lines.
I drive a Ford 350 and every time I fill it up it costs about 350% more than I wish it did. Now there's a model number relationship you can take to the bank!Mark - 2018 Solitude 310GK - 2017 F-350 diesel SRW short box - Pullrite Superglide hitch

This has been a topic that has come up a number of times over the years. Considerable research has been conducted with little success.
I think the way it works, is that on beer Friday's at GDRV when they knock off at noonish, they have beer pong set up with numbered cups. Whoever can drink the most beer and toss the most balls into the red solo cups gets to pick the model number.
See this from NADA for the first model year with lengths and model #s . Just when one thinks you have it figured out......."not so fast !!!"

Our model number is 26RL, we are 29'4" hitch to bumper.
I believe there are some manufacturers that do use the unit length in creating the model numbers. Grand Design isn't one of them.
