With all this Trailer Aid talk I had to give mine a "dry run" this weekend to see if it would work. Yup raised the other tire high enough to change it. I bought the Trailer Aid for quick roadside tire changes and it'll work for that (for my 2600rb anyway). If I have to do brake work at home I'll use a bottle jack.

Good deal! They are a slick solution when they work! We we had a massive China bomb blowout on our hybrid, to the amazement of the Trooper I had the tire swapped out in 7 min with traffic flying by at 70-75mph!

Doing a dry run of emergency scenarios, whether vehicle, trailer, fire, or medical, while RVing is essential IMO.

Sorry didn’t mean to derail the thread. I was just curious. I hate buying things that take up space that do not work.

They work just fine with my 5th wheel lot easier than trying to jack up on side of HWY.

You said.... "Added an 85* external fan switch thermostat for the fridge. Also installed an interior fridge fan - both made a world of difference in fridge cooling"

Can you elaborate on this a little more, please? Links to parts/part numbers? Pictures? Wiring diagram? Etc... Would love to make some changes to my fridge!

OK, I'm going to ask a bit of a boneheaded question, but... If your trailer has leveling jacks, why are you carrying bottle jacks/trailer aids/etc at all? It can lift itself with the leveling jacks easily, including lifting "off kilter" to raise one side up to get a tire off. I just installed the Comfort Ride system on my trailer and have about 10 jacks at the house; ready to go, but thought "well, let's see if the trailer can do it". Short version, did it easily and made working under the rig a joy. I just put 2 jack stands under the frame "in case" and only removed one wheel from each side at a time, which, of course, if you're changing a flat by the road, you'd only have one wheel off at a time anyway, right? Yes, yes, I know you're "not supposed to do it", but, every single time I've looked in an RV service bay, I see trailers up on the leveling jacks to lift with a stand or 2 (or none!) below them in case something gives out. Honestly, if we're going with "what do you trust more", I'm going to give the edge to the hydro jacks that are built into the RV, those are meant to be under tension for days/weeks at a time and not move, and have far more capacity than needed to get the wheels up/off the ground. Now, that said, if I had to lift the entire rig (replace an axle, for example), I'd lift with the hydro and then lower it on jack stands, but.. For changing a tire? What am I missing? Just jack lift the side with the blown tire, pull it off, put a new one on, raise up the jacks, drive away, right?

I actually do have a trailer aid, but it lives in my dump trailer, I just don't see a need for it on the RV.

There are several threads on the specific fridge mods, but I can’t find them using my phone and the search function. I’ll try later when back in my office.

In the mean time, this is thermal switch for exterior cooling fans: http://https://www.rvcoolingunit.com...-P4850272.aspx

And installed something very similar to this for the interior:
