Barcodes??? Definitely not. If you ever want some entertainment while eating peanut sandwiches, come down to Indiana and observe the transporters and the trucks, or more correctly, the heaps, these guys are using. After you see it for yourself, you'll seriously question your sanity in taking delivery at any dealership more than say 15 minutes from the factory!!!

I'm not sure that an RV transport driver sleeps in their pickup.

Maybe they should start using Amazon. 2 day delivery for Prime members and you can track. Just adding a little humor [emoji12]

Well since I am in another venting mode, I will share more details of the whole ordeal. I live in Tampa and I am Buying my my unit from General in Jacksonville(not greatly impressed with them, but...). I went to Lazy days in the Tampa area several times and even after striking a deal with General. I found the Lazy dealer to be arrogant and greedy. They had the unit I wanted on their lot and I chose to wait. That's how turned off they made me. I also have a close friend who purchased their 5th wheel from the "lazy" dealership and the after sale support has been HORRIBLE. I realize from research that all RV service departments may suck, but I have seen first had what my friend is going through and I will take my chances elsewhere.

Okay, another vent completed I really do hope to be picking up a new 353 within the next 6 days.
We also live in Tampa and traveled up to General RV in Jacksonville to purchase our Solitude because they had the unit we wanted and at a price I felt I could negotiate them down from to meet my price. We did purchase from General RV in Jacksonville and they treated us right, we had no problems with the purchase or the paperwork, we even got them to transport it down to us in Tampa because we did not yet have a truck.

Since we live in Tampa (Brandon) we have been getting service at General RV's service center in Dover FL. We have no complaints about the service center or our Service Advisor.

Consequently, we would strongly recommend General RV (either Jacksonville or Tampa/Dover).

I know you have had a different experience, but I still think General RV is a very good Dealer and apart from keeping you as well informed as you would like, they seem to be doing everything they can to get your coach for you As Soon As They Can.

I sincerely hope your coach comes in next week and that you are happy with it in the end and that all these trials and tribulations are forgotten and become a distant memory as you spend many years enjoying your new coach.

The loads are posted on the " load board" and a driver picks it up from there. They are essentially independent contractors and pick up loads as they want them. They are not issued loads.

They also do not carry gps on board like OTR drivers. Some guys stop at home for a day or two if it is along their route, break down, etc.

Most do. Or hotels. They are not permitted in the units that they are hauling (at least the companies I use).

Wish me luck! Unit is in. Headed to the dealer tomorrow for PDI. I did get GD to send me the build sheet and all looks good. As long as there are no major issues I look forward to pulling this thing home tomorrow.

My experience with General is not all bad. Really mostly good. I was just frustrated that no one there would take the time to actually call and get an ETA for me as they were well aware I have a trip planed this coming week. I really needed to know if I had to cancel or make other arrangements. Glad to hear that your experience has been good so far. I do not expect a problem free adventure, but look forward to getting the RV and creating family memories. I am not far from you(Lithia). I appreciate your response and opinion. Hopefully tomorrow goes well and I am towing a new 353G home.
