    Cargo weights in toy haulers

My husband and I are trying to decide on a toy hauler. We love the new M models but the cargo weight is listed on the 388 as 3000lbs but the GVWR is 18000 with dry weight of 14300 which is confusing to me.Seems like it would be 3700lbs. The hitch weight is 2900lbs. The cargo weight is a deal breaker for us since we will be hauling 2 touring harleys (1800+lbs) plus stuff. So we are leaning to the 380 or 385 for the added cargo weight. Then its 10ft or 12ft garage because I like the living space of the 380 better. Does 2ft really make that much difference. Too many decisions! Any insights out there. Anyone been in this position?

Good question on the weights. I would contact Grand Design directly. Looks like maybe the spec sheets might be wrong. Example: The 380 GVWR is listed at 19,500. Dry weight at 15,500 plus cargo at 4,200 puts it at 19,700. 200 OVER the GVWR. That can't be right.

The 388 is listed as 3700 pounds cargo. And the 380 has a dry weight of 15,300. This is pulled off the website today. As far as the 388, after the Harleys, 1200 pounds is a lot of cargo!

The 2 feet of garage is HUGE, I thought 10 was good enough, but now that I have 12 I couldn't imagine having a 10 footer.

Thanks for the input.I saw where they've changed the cargo weights on the 388. I agree with the extra room in garage my husband thinks 10 Ft is enough.I don't want to be sorry we didn't get more garage .We will probably get at least 12ft I like the 388.
