Changed tow vehicles does my setup work?

    Changed from a 2016 f150 to a 2019 Ram 2500.

Using a equalizer hitch. My ball height is 25 inches top of coupler is 23 on the 2800bh.

Have these measurements truck unloaded no camper to top of wheel wells.

    Df 40.25
    Pf 40.166
    Pr 43.166
    Dr 43.25

    Weight distribution connected with bars.

    Df 40.5
    Pf 40.75
    Pr 41.25
    Dr 41.166

Trailer is level maybe slightly tilting toward touch according to level.

Am I good or do I need to make more adjustments?

    Thanks for input.

I'm kind of speechless. The truck weighs LESS with a trailer attached?? And the rear wheels are exactly 2lbs lighter but the opposite the unloaded weight.

Where did the pin weight of the trailer go?

What were the weights on the previous truck? If that worked I suppose I'd aim for that.

Sorry. This is a measurement in inches from the ground to the top of the wheel well.

How stupid can I be???? It says that right in your first post.

re-thinking things now that I can read..... maybe readjust hitch so that the front squats as much as the back (like maybe 1" each)?

I searched around and found this explanation. I'm sure there are others, but this seems to support my guess about getting the front down lower.

The measurements actually look OK, but I'd suggest running over a CAT scale to get a real feel for what the weight distribution hitch is - or is not - doing for you.

Drop the trailer in the truck stop's parking lot and go over the scale with just the truck - no trailer attached. Then hook up the trailer with weight distribution and run over a second time. Ideally you want the front/steer axle weights to be very close to unhitched weights. The rear axle will certainly weigh more than when empty but with properly adjusted bars the squat should be minimized. If the front axle weight is quite a bit less than with the truck alone you'll need to tighten up the bars to transfer more weight from the rear axle to the truck front axle and the trailer axles.

Running over a CAT scale like this will run less than $20 and provides you with great information when it comes to really knowing your rig. Try to do it early morning as usually semi truck traffic isn't going yet and you can have the scale to yourself.

Ball height should be at the 23" or slightly lower, shouldn't be higher.

You are still unloading the front axle of the truck according to your numbers.

Drop the ball height and use more washers for tilt of the ball and pull some more tongue weight.
