Should I fix this? Will it leak?

Looking for some input. Up on the roof for the spring inspection and found this along the edge near the passenger rear. Should I dab some sealant or monitor?

You should seal that ASAP. I used Eternabond tape (beige) on mine. I don’t think that is a good area to be using a Liguria type sealer.

I can't tell if that's the silicone bead peeled off or a small slit in the membrane (looks more like the former than the latter). Either way, I would repair it. If it's just the silicone, a bead of silicone is fine (after trimming off the old stuff that's not adhering). Eternabond or non-self-leveling Alpha Systems lap sealant would be the choice if it's the roof membrane.

I had a significant tear along that edge due to my inattentiveness and scraping a low hanging branch. Repaired it with eternabond tape and dicor caulk. I carry a spare tube of caulk, tape and the metal roller in my trailer just in case of mishaps. It’s a relatively easy repair, just take your time.

On second look, what Rob said... Maybe just the sealant peeling.

But to apply more sealant you should first clean the roof membrane and use a good adhesive promoter before trying to apply more sealant.

I went all around my sides with adhesive promoter and a sealant a year or two ago to sort of head off any of that peeling.

That looks like the sealant, worthy of immediate repair.

I had this exact same thing on mine. Rob is correct it's the edge of the sealant. Just rubbing it with my fingers and it came off.

Thank you all for your replies. I'm pretty confident it's just the sealant. Like when you're caulking and you "smooth" it out. It appears to be just that thin layer that's left. I was going to trim it and touch it up with some silicone...or I actually have an open tube of the self leveling sealant. You think that would work here for such a small spot?

Can you suggest a good adhesive promoter? I've never used one.

This is as good as any. It works well and best of all it isn't another open container left hanging around to go bad or dry up.

The self-leveling stuff you have will drip and sag on a vertical surface. Not to say that you can't use it, but by design it will try to flow down until it's level, as it's designed for horizontal surfaces. If you just put on a small bead and let it dry before you put on another small bead, layering it, you should be fine.
