First, welcome to the forum! So sorry you are dealing with this on a brand new rig!

Two things, first and foremost call your dealer followed by GD customer service! Get a case opened ASAP!

To me this looks like an issue with the paint. If the surface prep was not done correctly you will get this type of spider webbing. I doubt that is an issue with the fiberglass, but it is possible. It needs to be evaluated deeper to determine exactly what it is.

Do you see the same type of spidering in the unpainted areas? For me that looks like a paint issue.

Yes, has been hit. The cracks show that. Maybe you never saw the incident, but that does not change the impact damage. Paint has it's issues, but not with cracks like that.

Of course, a professional with eyes on the part would be able to prove one way or another.

Are they only in 1 specific spot or the entire cap is like that? I agree with the others, it really looks like it got hit.

Mine had cracks like that. We noticed it on our first trip. The dealer had their body shop fix it under warranty, The said it happens if the screws are not installed right. It is still perfect today.

OP has an incomplete sentence in his post that seems to say it has not been hit, but it seems an incomplete thought. I think his premise was that it wasn’t hit.

I also asked him if it was isolated just to that area.

Either way , he has not yet been back since his original post.

I have contacted GD dealer sent pictures plus have a claim # with GD. Where the cracking is there is no way it it could have been hit.

Time will certainly tell what the professionals say.

It's a lot like a dent. The evidence shows there was some force on the panel. Either screw or aliens, something is not right.
