Breaker Box Fire
I was cruising the salvage auctions and came across a nearly brand new Imagine listed as fire damage. Maybe the lugs in the box were loose from the factory? Might be worth checking of you have a similar model.

With the pictures looks like very little damage and caught quickly. If someone were handy might be an inexpensive RV. Pictures can be deceiving though.

That should really be something that gets checked regularly.
A lot of electrical issues get traced back to the connections in the main breaker box. Road vibrations can loosen the lugs.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com

This is one of the fundamental flaws of RVIA. They defer to a residential (sticks and bricks) electrical code for towable RV electrical requirements. Solid copper wire under set screws would not be acceptable in the automotive/marine/aircraft industries. Things that move are not the same as things that don't.

When I installed my EMS I found this.
One on the #6 wires was not inserted into the breaker before the lug was turned down. The lug was bottomed out and there was no wire under it.
Also there was bare conductor exposed and cut where the Romex sheath was removed.
Amazing. This was a fire hazard.

Jerry, every time I see those pictures it just pi**es me off. These trailers are wired by unqualified personnel. Would you have the guy that roofed your house wire it also? As a retired electrician and from what I've seen on my own trailer, my advice for any RV owner is to check as many electrical connections as you can. Just because it works doesn't mean it's safe.
