    Furrion Oven

Spending 2 weeks out in our new Solitude 377MBS. Need some help with troubleshooting problem with Furrion Oven. We’ve been using it the last few days and has worked great. Tried using it this AM and it won’t stay lit. Pilot lights and when we release the main burner lights fine. When we close the oven door in a few seconds the flame on the main burner starts fluctuating until it finally goes out. The weird thing is if we open the oven door the main burner stays lit with no fluctuation. Gas bottle full.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark

That is a strange situation. I am not a expert on this oven but I might suggest that it could be a lack of oxygen. That is the only thing that might change with the door open or closed. The heated combustion air excapes along the back top of the oven. You might check for a blockage. Good luck

My first thought is it sounds like air flow. Not enough air when the door is closed. There should be a louvered panel on top of the counter behind the stove. This is the "exhaust" for the oven. Is the counter top under the panel cut out? Do you get any heat out of that panel when running the oven? Just some initial thoughts.

We have exactly the same problem. We were experiencing it at 8,000 feet last summer. Took it to Lazy Days Tucson under warranty and they said no problem.

Took the trailer to Quartzite and it appeared to be ok

Went to Hurricane, UT last week and it started happening again.

The installation instructions say to plumb the propane straight from the source, this is not the way it is done, teed off from refrigerator, water heater, furnace etc.

Think we are just going to live with it.

Fiddled with it a couple of times today and no change. Pulled from other gas bottle just to make sure it wasn’t a propane “plumbing” issue for the other bottle. Stove top works great. Oven only is the door is open. I agree with y’all that said its probably something air flow or ventilation issue. Called dealership and they said frost they’d heard of it and probably something along the same lines as we’re all thinking. Said they’d call Furrion in the AM and talk to one of their techs.
It’s just weird that it’s worked well everyday for 5 days prior to today....
    Thanks for all the help!

Will the oven work with just the pilot light?

Will the oven with the door open put a good blue flame?

I have read several threads on different forums on the problems with the Furrion oven and stove and IMHO another example of RV manufacturers cheaping out on contents. I don't have one and never had any issues with the Dometic or Atwood products.

If it wont stay lite then take a pipe cleaner and clean the nozzle. just a very tiny bit of lint will play havoc on a gas pilot. If that doesn't work it is most likely the capillary tube which is easy to replace. Can be had at any Lowe's.

Good blue flame on the main burner when the oven door is open. Good blue flame on the main burner when you close the door and then after a few seconds the flame on the main burner starts fluctuating and parts of the flame on the main burner start going out until it goes out completely.
pilot works fine and the main burner kicks right on. It just won’t stay lit with the oven door closed

Heard back from my Service Rep at the dealer and she spoke with technician at Furrion this AM. Tech said that the oven has its own regulator and that it may be going out. Wanted me to try the following procedure:
    1. Turn on all the burners on the stove top and leave running for two minutes to make sure all air out of line
    2. Turn off stove and then start oven and if all is OK it should work. If not, probably the internal oven regulator.
Tried it didn’t work! Have appointment to drop trailer off at the dealer when we return home.

Tech said you should do that procedure every time you change gas bottles.
