    Black blinds are HOT!

We’re spending 10 days in Port St. Joe, FL where it’s hitting mid 90s in the afternoon. The door side of the RV faces west so the sun hits all the windows in the afternoon. The black window blinds do a great job keeping the light out but the surface of the blinds reaches 125 degrees on these hot afternoons...you can forget about keeping the room cool.

You can take some reflectix and put it between the blind and window, that will help. You're not losing any sun light if you have the blinds down anyway.

As @FT4NOW suggests, or a more permanent solution is to invest in tinting the windows with an reflecting film. It will make an enormous difference. On my to-do list for Soli.

The black blinds in the Momentum 376TH and the light tan colored blinds in the Solitude 374TH was another bit of help picking which rig we would end up buying. The lighter color definitely helps keep out some of the heat. KEN

If wind is calm, we deploy the awnings and pull them down as far as they can go. It helps provide shade on the door side window shades. Good luck.
