Planning a leap from our first TT to Solitude S-Class 3540GK

New member here looking to upgrade in a year to a Solitude S-Class 3540GK. We currently full-time in our first RV, a 2015 38' JayFlight TT that we bought new and have loved but really wasn't built for full-time living. With just two of us, we really like the floor plan and length of the 3540GK and it should be a great new full-time rig. Upgraded our tow vehicle this past summer when Ford offered 0% on 2019 Super Duty so now have a F350 SRW 6.7 Diesel w/crew cab and long bed. Home is Austin, TX, area but we're in our fifth winter season in Casa Grande, AZ. Looking forward to learning a bit over the next year as we line things up for this next leap.

Welcome to the group forum. We fulltime in a Solitude S Class 3350RL and are now in Northern Indiana for a couple months. The Solitude is holding up well.
We are Texans and use to live near Bastrop, now we call Livingston Texas home. Good luck in your search for new RV.

Interesting, former Texans and in Northern Indiana for the late Fall and early Winter... Who'd have thought that! Lol.
@DrewDeHennis - welcome aboard. Since you're fulltime, have you made it to Indiana to tour the plants? Worthwhile to do IMO.

Haven't made it to Indiana yet - we've covered all of SW and NW states since our family is scattered across TX/AZ/CA/WA/MT. The plant tours definitely sound interesting, but not sure it will be on our agenda prior to purchasing. My near-term priorities are getting the truck 5th wheel prepped and sorting out the moving parts of possibly buying in AZ, but titling/registering in TX without too much bureaucratic hassle. Good to have this upcoming year to figure it all out, it will go fast I'm sure.

Yeah, Most of the family still lives in Kokomo Indiana and surrounding. Living and working in Texas we only got up to Indiana and family once or twice a year. But now that we are fully retired and went fulltime in October, planned to spend a couple months to just after xmas in cold Northern Indiana. In-laws are in their mid 80's and need assistance, giving the family a little break helping them for a couple months and then dividing time between our kids and grandkids. Now everyone wants a piece of our time!! Go here, go there, go everywhere!! Man its cold up here with all this flat farm land and cold windy days! The things we do for family!
Love the family but cant wait to get back to normal warmer weather in south Texas and being selfish with our time doing what we want..

Congratulations on your new truck and RV!

On your new Ford, what is the payload capacity? I ask bc the 3540GK has a hitch pin weight starting at 2,544 lbs and a GVWR of 16,800 lbs. At 20% of 16,800 you are at 3,360 lbs would be a more expected pin weight. At 25% it is 4,200 lbs.

They are still Texans - but the Livingston address gives them away. They are Escapees!
