    Allison M1000 low fluid

    Hi folks,

My trans started acting strange a few days ago, slipping and jerking. Did the fluid hot check, and it just reaches to the cold mark. Aside from an investigation on why it is low, based on more learned people than I, about how much fluid does the represent. I am thinking this is maybe between 1 and 2 quarts?

1 mark down would be 1 quart. I would take it in to get it checked. Being down 1 quart should not be enough to make it start slipping and jerking. It can be tricky checking trans fluid though. You can have fluid on the tube that can get on the stick above the actual spot above the actual line of fluid. Look all the way around the stick to make sure of your reading. If you see fluid on one side of the stick and not the other then that was just the fluid that was still on the side of the tube.

Thanks. My truck was running perfectly until I took it into the stealership for service for basic oil change air filter fuel filter and the block heater update.

Got an appt. To bring it in on Tues.

    Quick update...

Trans is fine. Did a diagnostoc, no codes. They are saying that because the battery was disconnected for more than 10 minutes it went into a relearn mode. It has been operating fine after a couple of days driving.
