I can’t get over all the extras I continue to have to buy for this thing. Probably $100 in Command Hooks alone.

I think Tom Hanks and Shelly long should film “Money Pit 2: The RV Years”.

Still loving the idea and can’t wait to take our first trip. Thanks for all the great tips and advice.

Welcome fellow Jeff! The money pit description is so true but it gets better once you have the basic items done. It is fun to shop for the RV though and I know Amazon loves us all lol! Be sure to post back how Ft Wilderness was, I am towing mine down there for a 8 night stay the first week of April.

After a surge protector, 50 amp extension cord, stinky slinky/accessories, water hoses, and other miscellaneous accessories, I was $1k in before the trailer ever arrived. You should have seen the eye rolls I was getting with each delivery. Didn't help when I'd say, "Ooooo, look what came today."

That being said, she was quite happy with how smooth our first trip was.

Was it just a surge protector, or an EMS type unit? The EMS protection provided is much more useful than just surge protection. The odds of an issue with a campground wiring problem are much higher than a surge type event.

    Well it's a start....

Hang around with this forum crowd (and the other one) and they will show you how to spend a lot more. If it's one thing forum people can do, and do well, is spend your money for you!

But I agree with a previous answer...don't go buy a bunch of stuff before you at least go camping somewhere. What's important to me might not be important to you.

Thankfully necessary purchasing slows down considerably after we settle in but there's always something to have an eye on. 😉
