That Chevy is still uglier than the Tesla... and everything else on the road.

Nah, the TESLA takes the fugly award hands down. Ford comes in a close second along with the Chevy. Imo Ram has the best looking HD truck, still don't want one. Glad I bought my 2018 Silverado, that was the best looking truck that year.

I still can't figure out why Chevy/GMC thinks you need a square hole to put a round tire in !!!

That is the biggest reason I did not consider Chevy when I bought my new Truck !!!!

I believe electric is the future but it’s further off than these companies want to admit. Battery capacity vs cost will have to improve another 100% for these products to be profitable or palatable for the general public.

And while Tesla is starting the conversation they won’t be the real deal in the end. It will probably be the Detroit Three that make these reality. We should all know by now that Tesla loves to make these big claims and then reliably under delivers each time. Are we really gonna see a $39,900 truck? Maybe a fleet order of bare bones models will hit that price point. And will it really be on sale on time? History tells us it will probably be a year late. There’s a reason Tesla stock is the most shorted stock.

I’m thinking the initial model real transaction prices will be in the high trim level heavy duty diesel price range yet will still probably offer the capability of the 1/2 ton models mostly because battery tech isn’t there. It could still be 20 years before before electrics offer us the convenience of pull through 5-10 minute recharging on par with gas stations.

I don’t want to sound like a naysayer, I do think EVs are a superior vehicle, especially with a low center of weight and regeneration but there’s a whole lot of marketing crap to shift through. I liken it to 4K/8K TVs, 5G cell service, flying cars, self driving cars etc.

I hope no one tries to drive the TUPPY (Tesla Ugly Puppy) in Texas in the summer. With that windshield whatever apparently is in the front 1/3 of the passenger compartment will totally bake. I've found during the summer to engage the windshield defroster, with the cabin a/c, because the defroster puts out cold air and helps cool the inside of the glass.
While I like tech progress, I have not drank the electric Kool aide yet. Remember, electric comes from coal, and nukes, and the lefties hate that! But a diesel/electric Super Duty would be interesting..................

Iv'e heard that square hole thing before and still don't buy into it. I really like that look. Make it round and everyone would complain they look like a Ford.

Couldn't agree more, set it up like a locomotive, diesel spinning a generator with some batteries for storage and more "pop" when the torque is needed. I've always wondered why hybrids didn't come in diesel, that seems to make so much sense, diesels are very good at running at constant RPMs with a constant load, in fact, that's what they love to do. So, put a diesel engine in and some batteries to hold the excess capacity from the engine (that's not directly being used by the drive wheels), regen braking.. That would seem to make a lot of sense for a HD pickup truck.

The Tesla? I'm sure you'll see them tooling around in cities. The first day I see one with a monster flatbed hauling hay or a 20,000lbs excavator, then I'll take notice. For now, seems more like a marketing stunt marketed at the "urban cowboy".
