    Propane tank cradle

How do you folks carry propane tanks when you put them in the back of your pick-up to fill them? I need to lay them down so I can close the tonneau cover. I'm thinking about fabricating a cradle of some type.

Milk crates work great. With my Retrax Rolling cover, I don't lay them down.

You will find that most places hauling propane tanks on their side in not legal. Stand them in a milk crate like Moonshadow_1911 suggests.

I use this from Camco. Works great and has not broken after lots of use. 20# bottle more stable than taller 30# bottle.

Second that. I have found that Tractor Supply Co typically has the best prices for refills and have you leave your tank at their outside fence near their fill station.

Best explanation for not laying propane tanks on their side.

The video says it’s ok to put it in the back seat, not around here...
