    PEX Emergency Kit

Last summer purchased the PEX crimper tool and pipe cutter tool and some fittings and some pipe for my tool kit. Fittings included couplings, plugs, ells, PEX to poly, PEX to male pipe thread and PEX to female. Some crimp rings and hose clamps.

Yesterday I got to use them. Opened the packages of the new tools and fittings and making my first of several PEX crimps to fix the leaking black tank flush anti siphon. I did have to order the brass anti siphon and check valve from Amazon which was delivered to my site here in RV resort land.

So happy to have the “stuff”. Recommended.

good to know! thanks for the insight!

Question: Probably a dumb one but... for the pipe thread fittings you mentioned, what size did you stock? Is 1/2" standard? I have gathered that the tubing/piping size is 1/2".

I've only noticed 1/2" pex in our trailer.
I'm gonna have to research a bit. I don't even know where the anti-siphons are? I think there is two? I have heard one is behind the shower wall so I'm not even sure how you get at it.

In my case, the anti siphon was between the shower and closet wall. I could not easily get to it from the shower fixture opening or from under the closet. So. Just left it there, cut the lines, and put the new one in plain sight at the same elevation. GD should have done it this way to begin with IMO. Worked great.

I used PEX to Poly connectors and hose clamps
    On the original GD hoses.
