    Mounting TV in Reflection

Hello, I am in the process of mounting a TV in the bedroom of a 323BHS. Here is the problem... I drilled 2 holes where the sticker said there was backing. No backing is in that location as the drill punched through and it is just the paneling. I am very disappointed as I now have 2 holes in the panels.

Is there any anchors I can use that will hold the TV with just the panel and no backing? If not, how can I mount this TV? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Brett

There is a large patch of expanded metal in the wall, meant to grip screws.

If you use a strong magnet, you can find the edges of the panel, and screw anywhere in between.

    Hi Brett and Rachel (@brj1593),

The backing is metal EGS (electro-galvanized sheet metal) which is thin yet strong. Pre-drilling is not recommended. Presence of the EGS can be confirmed with a strong magnet, as @huntr70 indicated. Fasteners should be able to get a strong "bite" into the EGS, which is why pre-drilling is not recommended. Best regards,
    ~ Janice

You could also use an electronic stud finder to find the plate. In looking at the wall area, I think I'd want to get a swing mount for the television that allows you to lift the tv on and off easily prior to trailering.
