Storage for sink covers that are same material as the counter

Just wondering if you've devised a good way to store the heavy sink covers for the farmhouse sink. Our dealer said it was not a good idea to travel with them on the sink as it tends to break the sink loose from the counter due to the bouncing and weight.
So, if you have this kind of set up, how do you all store these pieces during travel? I was also worried that they could bounce off and in falling really damage something like the oven front or the floor etc..
    Thanks,
    Sean

I just stand them along the side underneath the sink, between the wall and the trash can.

We put ours in a quilted pillowcase and lay them flat on the floor under one of the table chairs. They have never moved from here.

No one ever told us to remove them from the sink while traveling so I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has ever had a problem transporting them there?

New subject to me, too. When I asked the DW her response was "I just leave them installed."

Sounds like a reasonable preventative step, though, to store them while traveling to minimize the possibility of damaging the sink. She's now going to store them.

    Hello,
I believe over the last several years there have been a couple of reports of them jumping out reported here. The sink was fine but IIRC they damaged some cabinets. It's quite rare but can happen.
