Winn-tec regulator recall

I received a letter from GD reminding me to get it done. They indicated that if you have any questions to call 574-825-9679 or email warranty@granddesignrv>com. From the letter it appears that you may have the option of paying for the exchange and being reimbursed by GD.

Just got an email from GD that my reimbursement was being processed for the regulator I purchased and installed. Sent pics of the old regulator and manometer reading attached at quick connect.
As stated above, it’s not rocket science. Check for leaks and confirm correct pressure.

I am going to assume (yea I know what happen when you do this) that the recall has been cleared on my camper since I got the check from GDRV for the regulator I purchased and installed.

So I finally got around to replacing the regulator today. When I learned of the recall I just went out and made sure my tanks were off and today I got around tuit!

So after I removed the cover, I saw this and was like “holy propane snafu, what the heck is this!” No crap, I wonder if this is the main issue with the recall!

I don't think that is a problem with the regulator. That connection is always under high pressure, so it would have failed even with a good regulator.

My understanding is that the regulator can fail and send high pressure propane to the RV.

My recalled regulator failed, but it just cut off propane to the trailer, so I got lucky.

Did you do the manometer test yourself? Can you provide details? Did you have someone do it? Who?

Dealer is 2 hrs away and I don’t want to make 2 trips for this.

Leaving today to get mine done...with a 3 night camp on the way. Scheduled this appointment last fall.
