    @dryfly The twist on valves can be rebuilt like the standard valves. I've had mine on for almost 4 years and it's not held in place by anything besides the bayonet fitting.

    OK sounds good. I checked my trailer and it would be possible to install a fixed valve, but sure not much 3" pipe to work with. I'll hang on for the twist-on.

    In addition, these tanks are relatively flat, and fit between sections of the frame. With a limited amount of available height, there is much more “surface” than “depth”. Tilting the trailer may also prevent a great deal of liquid from being emptied from the tank.

    If you empty the black tank first, then the gray, your gray water will flush out the drain pipe and the hose. I always reserve the water in both gray tanks as a rinse for the black.     Unfortunately, that's not working for me. For years I've always emptied the black, closed the valve, then emptied the gray. With my Reflection doing it in that order still results in black water being left (and eventually discharged) in the drain pipe. That tells me if the black water is trapped in the discharge pipe it's between the black water tank and where the black and gray water merge in the "Y" of the drain pipe. If that truly is the scenario there is nothing that will flush it out.

    Personally, I have found that the solution that works best for us is to dump the black tank first and then while dumping the grey tanks I lift the drain hose up a couple of times so that the grey water runs back into the pipe cleaning out the residual black tank products. Next time I hook up it is only grey water that runs out. Saw this on YouTube and it works for us.

    My 2c worth. I never used one on my previous tt (which I had for over a decade). But I did always keep a clear 45 on the end so there were no "surprises". Had a "pressurized explosion" happen to my wife's cousin once, no fun at all!!! But for the new Solitude I thought I would add one (you know - more toys = better). Issue I have is that for the Solitude the drain pipe comes out under the drop frame. i already ripped off 1 valve (luckily the valve ears broke rather than the sewer pipe) coming out of a campground with a very low clearance. Plus I found the Valterra valves rotate, creating even more clearance issues. So I have gone back to a clear 45 and having the hose ready to catch any leaks. Not happy with this solution, but haven't found a better one.

    Hello,
    I had our dealer cut off the sewer connector and replace it with a gate valve with the right end to accept a sewer hose. I didn’t gain any ground clearance (didn’t lose any either) and the gate valve stops the splash when I take the sewer cap off.
