New Grand Design Product Launch
Grand Design is debuting a new line of Imagine AIM travel trailers at the Hershey, PA RV Show starting 9/14/22. From what we’ve seen and read these are single-axle trailers geared towards mid-sized SUV owners.
Here’s a photo of the three floor plans. The photo is a little fuzzy but gets more clear if you expand it. That’s all the info I have on it.
This camping season we have seen many smaller single-axle units at campgrounds. Seems like a good move for Grand Design.

GD (Don Clark) mentioned this line at the Rally, but don't think they had one there. Have to wonder , Is this their response to loosing 2 key employees that left to form the new Brinkley RV which is going to start by concentrating on that same smaller RV market.

Just wondering why she would feel more comfortable pulling a single axle trailer? Size/weight?
I've always wondered what happens when a major wheel event happens on a single axle. I mean like loosing a wheel to a bearing failure, spring hangers breaking loose from the frame, etc.2020 Reflection 273MK

Leave it to GD to step outside the box with new floor plans. I could see myself in the 15RB.

The trailer before my current 2400bh was a Jayco 17a single axle hybrid weighing around 4000lbs
My 2400 bh at 7200 lbs tows night and day better than that single did
I would never have another single axle
I doubt it has a 4400 lb axle either2021 Imagine 2400 BH

My single axle 12’ utility trailer came with bias ply tires. When they wore out I replaced them with a load range D 15” radial tire. It now pulls worse than it did with the bias ply tires on it, feels “spongy”. This is a single 3,500# axle. I agree that double axle trailers pull better, especially with radial tires. If the single axle trailer had a heavy enough suspension and stiffer tires it would be a lot better, but most don’t.
