Don't disagree, Towing, especially heavy, is not going to happen anytime in the near future. Commercial point to point will be first, we'll see how that works out

    I guess i wasn't clear.
My point was 30 minuets for charging/topping off and EV is too long when I'm on a trip. I can usually get off the interstate fill up and can be back on the interstate in 5 to 7 min. If I'm towing we are usually off the road about 15 min. EVs can turn a 1000 mile one day trip into 2 days.

I agree, it will take some time for them to come out with a HD hauler for our RVs.

However, I do believe the RV manufacturers are already looking into electrifying the Class As, and maybe Cs as well. There are some class 6/7 trucks that could be used for a Class C already.

Tesla is planning to produce a smaller Semi with a 300 mile range. I think this would make an excellent HDT Hauler. With the lighter load of the 5th Wheels, you might even increase the range to ~ 400 miles.

400 miles on a full charge and a 30 minute charge to 80% would be very possible for RVers that would want to go that route. I would seriously consider this since I don't believe the big 3 will be producing a decent range HD pickup any time soon.

For curiosity I looked up Sonata Hybrid Battery. From 2011-2019 the same battery was used. It looks like a simple swap as dealer labor. Cost runs about $250. You might want to search for a battery out of a 2018-2019 wreck.

Not related to camping but heavy duty battery vehicles. I just "thumbed" through an issue of school transportation news and there are about 4-6 separate bus manufacturers making battery electric buses.

Now a school bus is probably one of the better fits for this, but it does tend of counter the posts here that were saying the electric drive isn't up to the test.

I would love to see a plug in hybrid truck with all electric drive and just enough ICE/generator to keep up with the average loads. I probably could not afford it but it is all I would consider.

Yep. That’s what happens when you have strong opposing opinions.

HI Jerryr, we might be talking two different batteries. The $250 version that you are referring to is probably the regular starter battery that you have in a gas vehicle. I am talking the main battery pack that the car runs on when in electric mode. I just brought up a quick search and the first site I came to says the battery replacement is between $9863 and $9932. That is the price that makes it a disposable car.
