Shower skylight cover fell off & Door Strike plate on Backwards

I had to reinstall my door strike plate the correct way and re glue my shower skylight cap. I’m including some pics of the poor quality and lack of quality control.

Wanna bet those quality control "experts" put that striker plate on backwards so the door closed correctly?

@traveldawg I might agree but I started looking at the strike plate because we had to slam the door in order to get it to close. It’s much better now that it’s on the correct way.

Lol! For those that don't know, Lippert ships the doors with the striker reverses to fit more units in the "crates" and so they don't rub the neighbor. They should be flipped as part of the factory final inspection, but... As for the skylight, direct from China junk. Last I looked, cost was under $4 per inner trim. Nothing like the quality you'd get aftermarket.

@geotex1 when I flipped it over & the holes didn’t line up so I had to drill new holes. If you look at my picture you can see where I put a screw in the one unused hole. As far as the cover…I know it’s cheaply made.

We had exact same problem with our door. I flipped it and on a trip realized I couldn’t lock unit because the deadbolt didn’t line up with the opening. Used my Dremel to extend the opening down about 3/16. Now works great.
