    50 - 30 amp

Is this the wigit I need to carry in case I find a defective 30 amp plug at a camp site (bad neutral, etc)? Should allow me to tap the 50 amp plug if available to get me safe power to my 30 amp camper.

I have the same adapter and actually prefer to use the 50A service if it's available. The 50A outlets are usually in better shape than the 30A ones in a campground.

On occasion I've done the same thing. Only thing here is to remember you now have only one 30 amp circuit breaker to prevent current overload, the one in the trailer. If plugged into a 30 amp outlet on the pedestal you then have 2 in the circuit. But, I'll take the outlet that's in the best looking condition any day.

Also, in the case of a major short circuit event, I'm sure the 50 amp breaker will trip.
