    Mattress replacement

We are replacing the King mattress that came with the unit. Most of the mattresses I see on line are the memory foam type, but there was one I saw that was top of the line, but it was over $800US.

Has anyone else found a good solid durable replacement for the Lippert original?

    Thanks.

We have a queen mattress. After trying out foam topper we threw the memory foam out and got a Sleep Number R5 from Campingworld. Maybe not the cheaper option but it is wonderful. We should have kept the Sleep Number from our previous RV.

We repurposed the foam topper for use on the couch-bed. it make it far more comfortable to sleep on too.

Rich - This topic has been raised many many times over the years. There have been many different options shared.

While we do not have a King either we replaced ours right away in 2014 with a Serta Gel (about $400 back then) and have been very happy with it. The weight of the mattress makes getting under the bed more challenging but not a bid deal for us. Some folks have installed heavier struts and or additional current capacity ones to help. There are a few threads on this .

I did a search on just replace + mattress and got some reading enjoyment for you here:

X2 on what @Canyonlight said about using the search function on the forum - has been discussed MANY times. As for us, we have a Tuft & Needle mattress and love it.

It was listed at $1,999 but between a sale and clicking on the discount offer when signing onto their web site I save about $726.

Funny thing is we were going to get darn near the same matters direct from Sleep Number but they don't do mail order and their wait time, delivery, and setup system is archaic. They wanted 7 days to process the order and another 7 to 10 to come and install it. What???!!!!!!

Sleep Number beds are hard to beat. We have one at home and one for the camper. It's by far the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in my 65 years on earth.

We bought a memory foam mattress in RV King from Costco and love it. I was even able to sleep in it 3 days after breaking 2 ribs and getting out of the hospital.

Not sure what's going on with the link in @Canyonlight's post but it's telling me "no results". However as he said, this topic has been beaten to DEATH here.

The Search facility here acts strangely at times. Instead you can use Google to search only this web site to find posts here. Just enter the following phrase into the Google search box, exactly as it appears on the next line.

    replacement mattress site:mygrandrv.com

You'll quickly see enough links to keep you reading until you need a coffin rather than a bed. Here are just a few of them, good luck with your choice:

Mark - that is strange as yesterday prior to posting I cut and pasted the link into a new tab and it worked......just now, not so much.....hmmm

The good news is that I shared my search terms and anyone could do the same with these and/or other terms they wish.

Thanks, for sharing the "non-working" link today.
