    Hot water tank drain.

Here's something I did to save a hole bunch of time and mess.
Put a tap on my drain plug to eliminate removing the plastic plug to drain the tank. All I do is put a short hose on the tap and drain the water away from the tank area. To flush the tank just run water through the city water inlet flush and fill the hw tank like you do the black tank.

Here's what we did to keep from splashing water all over when draining the water heater:

Made using parts ordered from Amazon:

Tefen Nylon 6/6 Pipe Fitting, Hex... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006OGDJL6...p_mob_ap_share

    Eastman 48014 9-Inch Length... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079SL47L6...p_mob_ap_share

    1/2" NPT, Stainless Steel 304... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0734QDGZW...p_mob_ap_share

I already had some thread seal tape on hand, so I didn't have to order that.

JW - can’t tell from your picture, but did you put the nipple in first or the valve? Like this setup btw.

Just finished this MOD using all the stuff you listed on Amazon. I love it. Trailer is inside my shop and now I can drain the water heater after the our trips without water getting all over the floor. So easy that now I'll fresh water in the tank all the time. Thanks!!

I must have a different hot water bottle. I don't believe I have a plastic plug. When I drained mine today, I had to pull the anode. We have a 2930 Solitude S.

I used the nylon fitting to connect to the tank, then connected the hose to the nylon fitting, and then the valve on the end of the hose.

Thanks for the parts list. Makes it much easier for those of us still reading the plumbing For Dummies book.
