Sway hitch vs weight distribution hitch vs BOTH?

Hi all,

We have a TT that we affectionately call a BAC (Big ********** Camper). While I would say we don't have any real issues hauling, safety is certainly important to us. We haul with with a Ford F350, and currently have a Blue Ox Sway Pro distribution hitch. Our dealer stated this was a must have so we went with it. My wife is on the "other" GD forum on Facebook, and they are recommending a sway hitch over a distribution hitch. Further, there is a claim by some you can add a specific sway solution on top of the weight distribution hitch and have it all. Any thoughts on one vs the other? The one that is suggested can be added along with a distribution hitch is a Hensley Arrow. In looking at it I'm not sure I believe it. Your experience and opinions?

Howdy Timmer,

A Blue Ox is both sway and weight distribution and also one of the top hitches out there.

To your question, don't think you need to focus on exclusively sway or wd, you can and do have both in your current Blue Ox system.

All you need to do is verify you have the correct weight bars for your rigs current configured weight and tow vehicle. Based on your comment that it seems to be working, it is set up correctly.
