We honor the pricing at time of the initial agreement. Again, we can not charge more than agreed upon initially.

I was told by another New England dealer that $10K non-refundable deposit would NOT hold the price if GD raised it. One reason I did not order from there. It seems that GD and dealers have different rules. The dealer we ordered from said they would price hold if we placed an order before Sep 1st when they were having their next discussion with Grand Design and expected another price increase. At that point, they said they could no longer afford to eat the price increases.

I totally agree. What I don't like is the BS excuses. Just say you are raising prices because you can.

I have a problem with them increasing the cost after the order has been placed. I sell enterprise software, if I went to one of my customers and told them that I am raising the price even though they signed the agreement, my customers would go to someone else that is not playing games.

When we bought our 2021 the MSRP at the time was $83k. Negotiated $55k. Now, a little over a year later, the MSRP is $115k? From what I can see from the pictures, there is nothing added to the trailer by the dealer. Isn't MSRP number generated by GD?

Yes the MSRP comes from the manufacturer.

The Grand Design stance is 100% that the dealer is paying whatever the cost is at time of production, not at time at ordering.

That rule was put in place by GD in July. Doesn't matter if it is a retail customer order or a stock order.

But Steve, doesn't the dealer have discretion on when/if they are passing that price increase onto the customer? If I recall, there was a price increase early September and another maybe in November? I have a signed Bill of Sale which I believe fixed the price at the time of order (31 August). Date of production was December 1. Number hasn't changed in discussion with the finance folks. If it does, well....
