Thanks for this thread. Had same issue past two days, decided to search on the forum and these responses are right on target.. Turns out mine was so loose that there was no seal at all, could have been from road trip, not sure, going to upgrade to a better Air Admittance Valve. They just screw on? Or I need to glue?

I can't believe that a post made over 6 years ago is still so relevant. Thank you to the original poster. We were out on a trip a couple weeks ago and the smell under the sink was horrid. Hubby checked for leaks and we could tell it was isolated to under the sink because there wasn't a smell in the basement, shower or even from the toillet. He finally narrowed it to the air admittance valve. Finding this thread verified things for us. He removed it today and noticed that the valve wasn't sealing when closed. We went out and bought two to go ahead and replace the bathroom and kitchen. Such an easy and cheap fix. Not sure why GD hasn't upgraded these after all these years.

I started having an issue when I was in AZ at the AFB. I think I am looking for the vacuum break valve? I am trying to find out where it is.
“ 5. Check the valve/vacuum break for the black tank washer. If it fails, odor can get inside the coach. It is typically installed behind the shower area.”
Are there any pictures of what I’m looking for?Last edited by Barfield2013; 07-02-2022 at 11:13 AM.
