Thank you, that is what I see 14.4 amps is OK for my genset, but it is the 1721 watts that limited me from using it on propane. To run my AC when it is hot out, I need to use gas, so my max watts is 1850. Still a good tradeoff for a generator that weighs 39lbs. I did find that the AC unit dropped 20 watts by closing the dump vent. 10 watts by shutting off the breaker to the fireplace. I installed an AC meter to verify amps and wattage. I agree totally with what go ducks 14 said on 6/27/22 . I have a friend who has a Generac 3500 inverter it’s quieter than the Hondas because it doesn’t require to run high RPM. Most people do not even know his generator is on. I do think you will be very happy with the Generac 3500 or 3300 but no electric start on the 3300. I love having a soft start on my AC in my imagine 2970 RL. I can start it with my 2000 Yamaha but it’s noisy because has to run at higher RPM.

How do you hook up a 30 amp RV plug to two 110v 20 amp outlets on a 2500 watt inverter generator? I have a 110 to 30 amp RV plug, is that all you use or can you tie both 110 outlets into one adapter? Learning.......

    2670mk ac

I have a generator question. We own a 2020 GD Imagine 2670MK, which we bought new. It came with one main AC unit.We wanted to add the 2nd for the bedroom, but due to COVID and the parts situation at that time, we were unable to get the 2nd AC unit.

Roll the clock forward, now two years later, we had the 2nd AC added. Now for my question... We have never boon docked, and not sure we will. But, I purchased a Refurbed Champion Dual Fuel generator - which is out of warranty and has been on the shop for three months now - and I get nothing but a run around on when I can get it fixed and returned.

I am about to go ahead and pull the plug for a a new Honda Generator. I want to be able to run one AC unit and thats basically it. What model Honda generator do I want or need? It must be portable, something I can lift by myself, and also I can use it as a back up should power go off at the house (i.e. Hurricane season).

I dont want to spend a $GRAND to find out I should have gotten something a little bigger. I understand there are options such as doing a soft start mod, or even modifying the new gen for dual fuel - but not interested those options at this time.

Just wanted to see what some of you, that use a Honda are using for similar situations.

    Thanks!
    Steve
    Steve,
We have a 2018 2670MK with one AC Unit. We do one annual trip to one of our State Parks but they have no Utilities. We have used a Smart Tool 2000 watt generator (clone of the Honda) and it works fine. If we need to run both the AC and Microwave we have a second generator. This year we installed the Soft Start and have been out only once using shore power. Will be testing it out this month during our annual family campout at the state park.
As far as using it as a backup house generator you will be very limited on what you can use it for in addition to having cords running through your house. We have a Generac Home generator for that situation as we lose power often in the winter snow in Northern AZ.

Unfortunately you probably cannot get the whole 30 without a dedicated 30 amp jack/receptacle. Your smaller hospital receptacles more than likely have circuit breakers for 15 or 20 amps.

    What model is your generator?

The 14.4 is the same as the 1700 watts. 14.4X120 approximates 1700 watts. My 14.4 amps was a combination of the AC, TV, fridge and some lighting on inside being powered by the 12V power supply.

Good luck with your boon docking. I love it, the wife is on the fence.

If the generator is rated 2500 watts with a 20 amp breaker then that's all you get and you only need to connect the adapter cable to one 110v 20 amp outlet. Just make sure the cable is rated for 20A. If your trailer draws more than 20 amps then the generator breaker will trip.

I agree that you can only use one outlet if trying to use the generator at capacity. I did find out that my Champion 2500W cares much more about wattage than amps. I was just using an amp clamp and was not pulling more that 14.4 amps and had the generator bog down and almost quit. My AC unit quit blowing cold air. I installed a A/C power meter and found out that I was pulling up to 1710 watts which is more than the genset will run on propane.(1660W max). I can run it on gas which has 1850W max. So if I am camping in over 90 degrees without shade I will have to switch to gas.

I have a Honda 2200 which runs my 15000btu AC. It has a soft start that cost $295 which I installed in an hour with some coaching. It draws 14 amps out of 18,8 available. Leaving some juice for LED lights.

Just for informational purposes, the Predator 3500 ran both Coleman Machs (15k and 13.5k) perfectly this weekend. The SoftStart RV modules are the real deal.
