No - it's below the flight deck where the buckets of steam for the catapults are kept.

That would be a typical airdale response (I realize you are prior Army, not Navy).

I once overheard two airdales talking....they said, why do these ships need reactors anyway, we can just use the steam from the catapults to move the ship. [emoji2357]

As a silly-vilian (civilian), most of my friends have served. It's really funny to get the different branches in the same room telling stories. Then, with me as the peanut gallery... Interesting things are afoot!

We had a 30-something-year-old staff sergeant in the recovery room after a procedure once. When one of my nurses (a civilian who happened to be married to the Deputy Commander for Administration at our major Army medical center) went to pull out his IV, he looked at her and, with all sincerity, asked, "Why can't they make tape that doesn't stick?" If I recall, Pat just looked at him and said, "I'll give you some time to think about that, sarge."

Right up there with the chowline rope, international date line buoy, ignition key/fob for jet aircraft,
Then to - fuel line clamp on magnets to realign the molecules before injecting fuel into the engine.

Hah, in the late 70's there was a product sold for cars to align gas molecules before the carburetor that clamped around the fuel line. Was based on NASA research. At least that's what the guy set up in the flea market at Webster FL. was saying, he was also a former Nasa engineer.
