    Microwave to Convection swap

Has anyone converted from the factory microwave to a convection or convection/microwave combo? I'm looking for some suggestion on possible models that would work in the existing spot.

Ours came from GD with a Furrion combo. We have used it a few times and it works good so far. Use it as a microwave most of the time.

It all depends on: 1) the dimensions of your current unit and whether or not you can find a convection microwave to fit in that space and 2) whether your current microwave is vented externally and, if not, making sure there's not a frame member where you would need to cut through for a vent.

Our Solitude came with a convection microwave and we use it exclusively - even removed the Furrion oven and turned that space into storage space.

If you do change to a convection/microwave be sure there is some sort of thermal barrier between the unit and the RV wall. Those convection ovens get very hot. Awhile back there was a recall for some GD models to place a heat barrier behind the oven and the wall.
