Add me to the list of failures. We had a literal Trifecta on just a short trip form GA to SC. One of the tires began losing air, on the departure trip, due to a nail. TPMS alerted us and we changed it. (No fault of Westlake) Got to the site fine. Left a few days later and on the highway a guy in a van pulls up and flags us down. My DS Rear tire had come apart. Still had full PSI, but it shredded apart and tore up the side of the camper. Luckily I had gotten the first tire plugged, so I had spare. We got it changed and a HERO unit pulled over to help get us back underway. Traveled maybe 5 miles and another tire starts losing pressure. I was out of spares so had to pull over off 285 in ATL. Called my extended warranty company Star RV for roadside assistance and they make you call another company. It took 3 calls to get a request in to them. Star RV was Zero Help when the Roadside Assitance co could not find my account. Then had to wait almost and hour for a reply that a vehicle was dispatched and would be there in 90 min. After 30 min of waiting for a text or call back I decided to call a Discount Tire that was a few miles away and took them the destroyed tire so that I could replace the other tire and pull the trailer to them. Ended up getting 5 new Goodyear Endurance tires since that was all they had. Really wish that Grand Design would get the hint and stop using these with so many issues. PSI was fine, temp was fine so I had no warning that the tire failed. Thanks to that guy in the van. No thanks to Star RV!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. That experience must have been very frustrating.
I think you were fortunate that Discount had the Goodyear Endurance tires in stock. IMHO they are probably the best E rated trailer tire out there. I replaced my Westlakes with them.

After my miserable luck with Westlake, I went to Maxxis. Two years now with no problems.

Three years on my original Westlakes with no problems and now two years on the replacement Maxxis, also with no problems.

Two years on D rated Westlakes without issue, and moved to the Goodyear Endurance E rated. With one season on them its too soon for feedback other than I believe they ride better.

Nobody is flooding this forum on failed Goodyear's, Sailun and Maxxis tires. With all the failures I've seen and read on this forum, I bailed this spring and upgraded my D rated Westlakes to E rated Goodyear Endurance tires. For now I have piece of mind on the tires and can begin worrying about broken spring hangers. Becoming increasingly agitated on the Ben Hur suspension, tires and brakes that come with these units. Like the auto industry of the 70s.....everyone is doing it.
My only comment on that is Grand Design puts their trailers out with Westlakes so naturally they will be the most discussed/complained about tire on a GD forum.

I have blown Maxxis, Goodyear and others I've had on my trailers. Three years so far with these Westlakes and no issues. Not saying they're better or worse, but trailer tires in general are problematic in my decades of experience pulling every kind of trailer imaginable. I did put Goodyear Endurance on my enclosed car hauler and they are great so far, but not even a year old yet.

Well I submitted a warranty claim to Linonshead Tire & Wheel at the suggestion of Grand Design and they said they would reimburse me $116 per tire and covered all 5 tires. I was very surprised to get anything back and thought they might cover one tire, but all 5. Thought I would share.
