Well, we just got an update on our Solitude 373FB-R order. We ordered it on August 21st. Our salesman was on the line with his Grand Design rep while we were at the dealership ordering. We were told to expect an early to mid October delivery.

My salesman told me today that it's not even scheduled for paint until October 29th! He said it won't ship until the end of November! That means we won't get it until early to mid DECEMBER!!! We are super disappointed. We had planned to head south for the winter in mid November. It looks like I'll be working on the RV in the snow in December getting it ready (washer/dryer/dishwasher/satellite/EMS, etc) instead of sitting under the palm trees in Palm Springs.

@huntr70 - your estimate was pretty close!

I sometimes wonder about the communication between the sales side of GD and production. We ordered our 381M the 30th of July (that's the date we signed the purchase order, I don't know when the order was actually sent to GD). At that time we were told late September delivery, which we knew was very optimistic. We had asked our salesman to get us the VIN as soon as it was available so we would know the coach was in production and out of the queue. We finally got the VIN in an email from my salesman dated September 21 saying not only did they get the VIN, but also that the unit "made it to paint early, and is currently in the process". Prior to that, in an email dated September 13th, my salesman told me his contact at GD did not have a VIN yet. That being the case, the unit was out of the queue, in production, built, and sent to paint in a week? There seems to be a breakdown in communication. Still hoping we get delivery by the end of this month, but now I'm not so sure.

    Here's my timeline...

August 21st - Ordered from dealer
August 30th - Notified that order was confirmed by the factory (could have happened sooner). Was told VIN would be assigned the following week.
September 15th - Was given the VIN after asking for it (could have been assigned sooner).
October 3rd - Was told our unit was scheduled to be painted on October 29th and ship at the end of November.

I initiated all communication to date. Our salesman was a really nice guy. I just think he could do a better job keeping his customers informed. IMO, all customers should be told when GD accepts the order, when a VIN is assigned, when a unit is scheduled or in production and when it ships. Simple customer service 101.

Totally agree! I'm just not sure where comm breaks down. For example, it took me 8 weeks to get a VIN, you got yours in 4 and actually before I got mine. I don't know if there would be a difference since you ordered a Solitude and me a Momentum? Shouldn't matter though...

Well, today was the day our new RV was supposed to go to paint. I sure hope it made it. We woke up to snow this morning and are very anxious to get out of Dodge! Five weeks to go (more or less)...
