Adding 12v outlets
I need to add some 12v outlets in the cab of my older model Ford. Between GPS, b/u cam, dash cam, TPMS and phones we have a real shortage. I知 thinking I壇 like to mount some sort of outlet bank in or around the dash. I知 sure I知 not the first to have this issue and I壇 love to hear/see your solutions. Thanks.

Maybe a "y" adapter. I've seen solid ones and wired ones.

I use a "Y" of sorts. It has 2 12v cig lighter outlets and 2 USB plugs and plugs into the only 12v outlet I have in the cab.

This is definitely along the lines of what I’m thinking, but I also need lighter receptacles for some of the peripheral devices that don’t come with an option for usb. There are some solutions similar to the one you linked that have lighter receptacles too and I’ll probably go in that direction. I was just hoping someone had already done something like this so I could take a look and get some ideas. Thanks!

A key question is whether you need more outlets, more power, or both.
More power will require a new fuse in your block. That can make installing new outlets quite simple, 2 wires!Rick

I put 2 of these in my truck but they only had 2 ports. I like the 3 port type in the Amazon link. The ones I used that are the 2 port version has both ports capable of 2.1 amps; most are 1 amp on one port and 2.1 on the other.
I installed one in place of the cigarette lighter in the dash. The other one I installed in the tray on top of the dash.
