Anything that's just a "W" without an "R" is an actual weight - you have to take the truck to a CAT scale and weigh it to get those numbers. It's not expensive and almost every truck stop has one. There are separate pads for the "Steer" (front axle), "Drive" (rear truck axle) and "Trailer" axles. You would pull your truck up on the front two (Steer and Drive) with a full tank and you and your passengers in the truck. The difference between that weight and the RAWR is the axle payload you have left (minus the weight of a good hitch). Likewise for the gross weight (the steer and drive axle weights together). The GVW (gross vehicle weight) subtracted from the GVWR (the gross vehicle weight rating) will give you your true payload. Manufacturers will call these actual weights "curb" weights, but they are generic and not for your specific truck with trim and accessories. The CAT scale is your friend and the only true way to know where you stand.

    I'm in the same boat.
Except my choice is between a 2021 GD Imagine 2500RL and the 2021 Rockwood 2608BS.
    Both are outstanding rigs.
Rockwood comes with ALOT of extras that the Imagine doesn't.
But the Rockwood is about 800-1000 pounds heavier.
To match the Rockwood extras the Imagine needs to have many dealer installed options.
Please let me know which one your would choose and more importantly WHY the choice.
    Thanks in advance.

They are not really comparable trailers at all so of course if price wasn’t an issue I would pick the rock wood but without spending a lot of time it appears there is close to 10k price difference???

What do you believe would be the closest Rockwood model comparison to 2500RL?

I have no idea but IMO they are not the same level of trailer so it is hard to compare them
Like I said if price was not an option I likely wouldn’t have bought an Imagine
But for us price is important and imo grand design offers the best quality and most features by far in that price point

Thank you I appreciate your "straight forward" opinion.

Just from a quick look I would expect the Rockwood Mini Lite 2516 or the 2506 to be similar in features to the Imagine line although smaller. The Rockwood Ultralight series as you have found is more expensive due to the more options.

Maybe its just me but GD Imagine just looks like a better trailer that turns heads.
The Rockwood is a fine trailer but there is just something about a Grand Design styling that grabs me, when I see it roll down the street.
It just has a real great look......different from all the others.

You CAN tow a 2670 with a half-ton truck, if it is within the truck's capacity.

    I've done it.

Even with a Hensley, it was a tiresome experience.

And, the 5.0L Coyote motor in that F-150 was SCREAMING at highway speeds.

    Not damaging, but not relaxing.

You are going to need to get a bigger truck or go with something like a 2600RL.

That little trailer is perfect for one or two people, but you are not going to carry everything in the house with it.

If you are looking at something bigger, consider getting a one-ton, single-rear-axle truck.

Think of it as a half-ton's big brother.

Whichever way you go, consider a Hensley or Pro-Pride hitch.

Either will add a huge margin of safety when pulling and make driving a lot more relaxing.
