slide out blocking awning LED.

I have a 2021 297RSTS I i noticed that when you extend the awning the slide out blocks out the led's that are along the bottom of the awning. I like to have some light at night when hanging out. One of my options is install some underglow but i wanted to hear from others what can of ideas they have ot have done. I mean i can always attach some lights along the edge of the awning but for a full timer like me i don't always leave the awning out. thanks in advance of any replies.

Solar lantern lights that hang on a pole are an easy option , they turn themselves on and off and off with soft lighting.
Or go the old school way and set a battery lamp on the table.

Since upgrading to our current camper a few years back our only disappointments are the downsides of the door side slide-out and awning configuration. We used to have way more space under the awning, and as you are experiencing, better light. I've seen others that have a led light strip running along the inside edge of the deployed end of the awning. When retracting, they have a wire that runs along the awning arm that they unplug off the high end and remove. The lights themselves stay connected and roll up with the awning.

Thanks for the idea. While having this issue i think i did see other RVers doing the same thing with their awnings. I might have to look into that route regardless of the pug unplug thing or else i'll just look into underglow as well since im a full timer.

We camp with a small dog so build a fenced area under the awning. We string lights along the top of the fence with a remote on/off switch. 110v when we have power and 12v when boondocking or dry camping.
