Amp Research Bed Step
Here's the bed step on my F350. Easy install. No modifications to the frame required. I also installed a side step. Some modification required. Don't recommend the side step as it mounts too far forward. I was hoping to use it to reach the 5th wheel hitch lever but can't reach it from the side step.

Agreed, but the softer and thinner aluminum on a MX4 bed cover dents much easier than the truck hood or roof will.
Example.

Moppie14,
I have the Bak X4S on my 21 ram 3500 DRW LB, as well as the bed step (had to argue this with the salesman when I ordered. They said it could not be done until I found a truck on their lot that had one.).
I prefer the bedstep to my buddies 21 Ford tailgate step. Ford has too many moving parts for me.
The tonneau works great after 6 months of use now. First one I ordered was defective, and they sent me a new one asap after I sent them photos. It is best to roll from the bed if by yourself. A little hard to get it to roll straight from ground level.2021 Ram 3500 Longhorn DRW Air-ride

Yes, I have the MX4 on my Duramax 8’ bed. I really like it. The only downside is that I can’t see the 5th wheel hitch to line up the pin. My “hack” has been to call my iPad using FaceTime and position the iPhone on the bed cover so I can see it on the iPad. I’ve had no problem folding it up and down from ground level as others have mentioned. I replaced a roll up cover with this and like it much better. Bottom line is that I would not only recommend it, I would also buy one again if needed.
