Get the one with the remote display...hands down easier overall. The EMS needs to be installed somewhere that is usually between the incoming line and the transfer switch (if you have generator power also) and if you don't, then it goes between the incoming line to the trailer and the breaker panel. It would be almost impossible to find a location to put the one that has the built in display, somewhere that you can see it AND mount the unit where it needs to be. The remote unit setup can be located wherever it needs to go, the the display mounted somewhere that is easy to see....it comes with like 25' of cable, so pretty easy to find a place to put the separate display and have the EMS mounted in the basement or behind a panel or wall.

Thank you Kevin! You just made the justification much easier. Just pulled the trigger on the EMS-HW50C. Sweet!

I bought mine from Tweetys also. I actually bought it before I took possession of the trailer. It was an easy decision for me since I had put one in our previous Toy Hauler and knew exactly what I was getting and how easy it was to have the remote display wherever you wanted it.

So the EMS-HW50C showed up on my doorstep today. I'll be doing the install in the 303 this weekend. On a side note the "Proudly Made In The USA" on the unit and on the box it came in were covered up with stickers "Assembled in Mexico". What a downer... That "Proudly Made In The USA" was a big draw for me.

Anyone know what the lid screw size is?

I wired a EMS-HW50C into my solitude and lost the lid screws, like a dummy LOL
