    Dometic T-Stat, Strange Occurance

We have a 2018 Imagine 2970 RL. So we get to our camper this evening, I power everything up and go to fire up a/c. The fine Dometic thermos stat said off, so I proceeded to scroll to the a/c screen and the temperature read 25 degrees. What the. . . ? So I scrolled up and all I could get was 32 degrees!
Ok, I'm all for cool sleeping but yeah, , not that.
Anyway, so I pulled the face plate off a couple times, gave it a couple of attitude adjusting knuckle raps and it straightened up.

    Anybody ever have this happen?

This is our second t-stat and control unit. May have to contact the folks at Dometic again.

Could that be set to celsius? I’ve never heard of that option, but it sounds like it to me.

I just got through playing with the E4 code...

I've read other posts describing just that - it's in the Celsius mode. I can't recall how to switch it back to Fahrenheit, but it's probably in the manual.

Seems like it happens on its own sometimes. Hold the up and down keys for about 10 sec. should go back to Fahrenheit.

Yeah, that's it. My husband had to it.

Yep, thermostat was showing Celsius. 25 dC = 77dF

As others have reported, Hitting Up and Down temp buttons at same time will switch between C and F.

Hmm, interesting. It must have switched itself to celsius cuz I sure didn't do it. For fact the camper was unplugged and battery switched off for 2 weeks.

Not knowing how to switch from C to F I think I accidentally held the temp up/ down buttons in and it switched back. I just figured it didn't want another knuckle rap.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it!

The faceplates on the Dometic thermostats are notorious for causing erratic display changes. If you call Dometic they will send you replacement faceplates that are supposed to fix the issue. Their contact number is (800) 366-3842

Thanks Jerry. Yeah, I plan on contacting Dometic. Talking with the wife, kinda thinking about getting an entire thermostat to have on hand.

Can you purchase a thermostat without a control board? Seems I recall they came as a package. I would also like to get a thermostat for issues I have had.
