    Two Piece Shower Stall 315RLTS

Has anyone had any problems with the very noticeable gap between the shower pan and the wall insert? What about mildew forming behind the insert?
I am assuming that the pan extends up the wall to guard against splash and/or water intrusion. But I know what assuming can do...
Haven't even taken her out for the shake down trip yet!

I seem to remember @huntr70 saying this was done purposefully to prevent mold and mildew, but I can't find the post.

If you seal that gap, humidity WILL create a habitat for mold. As long as the area can breathe, it can dry out.
If concerned, and as a good preventative measure, squirt a little 5% bleach solution or any resin friendly bathroom cleaner into the gap to keep clean.

That sounds reasonable. I think I'll stick my snake cam under the lip to see what's what.

    Whoa Myke ....
If you can fit a snake cam into that gap you may have a problem.
Mine is about a 1/4" gap ...and that shower pan lip goes up a couple of inches, at least.

Myke - Have used the shower through a couple of seasons without any issues with mold or mildew. I definitely would not attempt to seal the gap. Any water that happens to find its way up there will immediately find its way out due to gravity. Removing the drawers in the bedroom that are adjacent to the bathroom will give you a visual on the backside of the shower wall. Removing the heat vent under the shower will give a peek at the bottom of the shower pan. I've never found any sign of leaks.

Yes, they are overlapped and not sealed to allow air to circulate behind the wall panels.

Thanks, Chief. That is great information and I will be pulling the drawers and vent just to satisfy my curiosity. I have not even begun to do the deep dive that you, Howard and many others have done on your rigs. I really respect your hard work and appreciate your willingness to share.

Michael, It's not a drain snake cam. I's about the diameter of a #2 pencil and flexible. Plus, there's been a lot of responses to my thread so I'm not even going to do it.
