My pea brain is thinking.....,,
Waste water going to the top tank will flow into the lower tank because of gravity. Once the lower tank is full, and at some point, any additional waste water from shower/sink going to lower tank would back up due to the weight of the water in the upper tank. There is not enough pressure to push the waste water up to the upper tank.
The original question was equalizing (equal pressure) the two tanks. I think in order for that to happen, both tanks must be level.

How does one know which tank is higher, lower or level? We have a 2150RB and belly is enclosed like most GD.

I have a 2020 303. Have you linked the two grey tanks?

@10sne1, on the Imagine trailers the tanks are all on the same level. The trailers mentioned with different levels are 5th wheels with bathrooms in the upper level over the hitch and the kitchen in the lower level or vice versa.
I've not had an imbalance between my gray tanks on our 2400BH that was significant enough to cause an issue - especially if we're at a site with full hookups. The once or twice I noticed the 2nd tank getting full while the first was still low I just dumped some out of the 2nd tank. I don't like to drain them completely so I have enough 'rinse water' for the stinky slinky when I empty the black tank ;-)

Are y’all saying there are two grey water tanks that have separate dump valves. Sorry I just woke up.
