You're welcome, and I think you have cute pups in your avatar ..aussie bias of course..

They are Mini Tri's. We travel with three of them, and they are all related but two years apart, and at least one parent in common. They are Great travelers, and are habitual little creatures. I am amazed to hear some of the descriptions of them being super hyper, or incessant about herding people. Ours are fine just sitting with us watching TV or at a Beach somewhere.
I was sorry to hear about your little family passing recently, and am glad you have found a new family to take care of. Ours are like having little kiddos in the house, I can only imagine how it affected you two. My wife and I are so close to ours, they are our new kiddos.

It should be instant when you complete the payment process. Have you tried to do it at this point? (You're still showing as a "New Member" rather than a "Site Sponsor.") Also, there is a size limit in KB for the image: "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 600 by 200 pixels or 58.6 KB (whichever is smaller)."

That shouldn't be be case - it's all automated. I'll tag @Janet H here and see if she can tell us anything.

Have you looked to see if there's a charge to whichever payment source you used? If not, you did not complete the payment process like you thought you did. If there is, PM @Janet H and ask.
